Welcome to Devonshore Driftwood

The sea has many faces and as many moods. All evoke powerful images in our minds and take us to back to the times that we have spent on the coast. It is impossible not to feel humble when looking out to sea as its majesty surrounds us and shapes our lives. Whether you rely on the sea for a living or simply for fun, it's hard not to fall in love with its beauty.

I was lucky to grow up with the North Devon coast to hand and spent weekends and holidays in or around the sea. I now have the pleasure of taking my children to the beaches I grew up near to. I am fascinated by the gifts the sea presents us with, not least driftwood. It's that gift that I hope to share with people.

All the driftwood is collected by my family and me. We explore fantastic beaches such as Saunton , Croyde, Woolacombe and the lesser know treasures of Crow point, Hele and our favourite Rockham bay. Each has its own character and something special to offer. We are careful not to impact on the coastal environment as we collect. This often included long walk with heavy loads. My main aim is to retain the wood as I have found it, where possible, allowing the wood to speak for itself. Any additional materials are also sourced from within Devon, such as Devon bees wax used to protect the wood.

I have a wide range of products from sculptural / art works through to clocks, mirrors, candle holders and sconces. If you require a bespoke piece or a personalised item then please contact me and I will be happy to bring your ideas to life.
